Phi Phi Islands – The name is derived from Malayu word of “Pulau Piyapi”, with ‘pulau’ meaning an island, and ‘piyapi’ is the type of mangrove growing dominantly on the islands. It is a group of 6 islands altogether, Phi Phi lay, Phi Phi Don, Biddah Nok, Biddah Nai, Yung (Mosquito Island) and Pai Island (Bamboo Island); Total area is roughly 35 sq.km. Only Phi Phi Don has the accommodation and tourist facilities.
Phi Phi islands is famous from the movie ‘The Beach” (2000) starring Leonardo DiCaprio (who we think should have won some oscar, by now). Witness the stunning mountainous scenery surrounding paradise lagoon and coves. Get lost (a little bit) in a lush green patch of the piyapis and tropical trees. Imagine yourself being cast-away there, wandering about some foreign paradise, eating bugs right off the tree, tripping your day in the water, wearing nothing but bikinis and speedo,….do it… just do it.
So back to reality, our Phi Phi Island by Speedboat tour will take you far far away to Phi Phi archipelagos. Trip usually takes about 45-60 minutes depends on the weather. On this trip, you will get to visit Maya bay, Loh Sama bay, Pileh cove, Viking cave, Monkey beach, and Khai island!
Tips: if you would like to avoid the crowd and truly experience ‘The Beach’, Phuket Let’s Go recommend you to go stay overnight on Phi Phi Don, wake up early and take a long-tail boat out to Maya bay and around the area. Guarantee postcard-able photos of your Phi Phi trip. Or if you don’t have time for a stayover, try our ‘Phi Phi Early Bird Daytrip’ for minimum tourist and maximum awesomeness. It’s a bit more pricey than the normal Phi Phi Island by Speedboat tour, but it’s really worth it.
Sunblock, sunglasses, towel, camera, underwater camera (if you have any), personal medication (if any), colorful swimsuit or sarong for perfect pics
